WOMENS' POWER WEEKEND AND CRAFTS FAIR
AUG. 28-SEPT. 1ST, 2003

We live in strange times. And we know, ultimately, that change is up to us both individually and together. And to this end we are inviting you to be a part of a Taiko Drumming, Martial Arts, Healing Circle and Writing weekend on our 120 acres with the Eel River running through it in Dos Rios, CA. We will not be charging for the ïworkshops' but we have a suggested donation of $50 dollars per day for food and expenses. If you do not have money, then email us to make work/trade arrangements. A discount can be given to women living in the area. We want your presence at this gathering. Here is the scheduled list of events to help give you an idea of the weekend we have in mind.

THURSDAY EVENING: Setting up of camps and crafts sites
      Dinner: 7:00-9:00pm
      Power Circle^*: 9 pm

FRIDAY AUG. 29TH: Meditation 7-7:30 a.m.
      Personal Power Circle^* 7:30-8:15 a.m.
      Breakfast 8:15-9 a.m.
      Drumming/Martial Arts 9-10:30 a.m.
      Wet Ink 11-12:30pm
      Lunch: 12:30
      Private Time; 1pm-4pm
      Writing Check In: 4:30-5:30pm
      Healing Circle/Vicki Noble^* 5:30-7pm
      Dinner: 6-7pm
      Power Circle^*: 8pm
      (Starts and ends with 15 min. sit)

This schedule will be in effect Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. The topics for the Power Circle will be different each night. Thursday night will be LIVING IN BUSHLAND, Fridays topic is WOMEN STAYING CONNECTED, and Saturdays topic will be THE POWER OF ART AND SPIRITUAL PRACTICES IN A FACIST STATE. Sunday will be WHERE DO WE GO FROM HERE.

Now, a bit of information on the ^*Power Circle. During the day women will be working on a martial arts move, drumming, or writing (all of which is optional). You will be invited to bring what you've learned and yourself to the circle where we will focus on the particular topic of the night. We will go around the circle each of us offering whatever we want to the topic. There will be no cross talk during this, and you are welcome to pass. The Personal Power Circle in the morning will manifest the same way but will be a time for anyone who wants to, to express something personal to them.

Vicki Noble will be facilitating both a healing circle and Dakini practices with collage making.. There will a group collage being created in the meditation room and also you will be able to create your own personal collage.

We have a wonderful swimming hole on the Eel River. In the evening we will be holding the Power Circle in the natural bowl that is on the land. We ask that, as the days go by, that each one of you create a small statue/offering from found objects on the perimeter of the bowl.
