Sept. 10-13th
Creative Writing Workshop
Waldoboro Maine
Presented by La Vatout

Thursday, 9/10: Between 4pm and 6pm you and your fellow workshoppers arrive and check in. After settling into your room, join us at 7pm for a meet-and-greet during an informal dinner at Le Vatout. Afterwards, feel free to hang out in the kitchen with your new friends, enjoy the breeze from the river in the garden or take a stroll to the village, just five minutes away. The Narrows Tavern, which features live music most nights during the summer, is a fun place to have a beer and get to know the locals.

Friday, 9/11: Breakfast is served between 8 and 9am. After your meal, you'll meet and do some speedwriting exercises meant to open up to the immensity you hold inside. Or Ferron may have some other exercise up her sleeve that morning to get you going. You'll be invited to commit yourself to a drawing, a paragraph, a page, a song. After lunch you'll work alone with the time to focus deeply on one piece. Then another great dinner cooked by Le Vatout, after which you'll share the work you've been doing with each other.

Saturday, 9/12: Just like yesterday, breakfast will be between 8 and 9am, followed by another day of creation. Tonight's dinner will be served early, so that you can make it in time for Ferron's farewell concert. It's held at the Waldo Theatre, right around the corner from Le Vatout, and begins at 7:30pm. We've been told the acoustics are fabulous at the Waldo since it was built by the same guy who designed Radio City Music Hall.

Sunday, 9/13: Breakfast is served between 8 and 9am. After breakfast take a last stroll through the garden and say good-bye to your new friends. Check-out is by 11am, but don't be sad - we know you will return home transformed and invigorated by the once-in-a-lifetime experience of creating with Ferron at Le Vatout.

Ongoing
THE BLANK PAGE ONLINE WRITING COMMUNITY

Are you interested in joining The Blank Page Online Writing Community, either as a beginner or an intermediate?

For 8 consecutive weeks you will be given a suggested prompt for writing. All writings will be read by class members but only Ferron will give feedback unless otherwise specified or requested. In week 5 and week 10 you will choose 2 pieces to put up on display and receive constructive feedback from other writers in your group and from The Blank Page Alma Mater, which consists of writers who have taken the 8 week course and continue on an ongoing basis to contribute to the Blank Page online community.

When you sign up a Blog Page will be created for you. It would be lovely to have a photo and a bit of an introduction about you on the 'passengers' page, where you live, how you would like people to connect with you. Send the photo and blurb by email and I will add your page. This will also be where your writing of your choice will be saved for public viewing.

The fee for the 10 wk. workshop is $250 payable by check or money order to Ferron. When your check is received your page will be created.

For more information, send an email to TheBlankPage@gmail.com.
