Ferron Workshop and Concert

Thanks for your interest in the Ferron Workshop at The Potawatomi Inn at Pokagon State Park. The workshop is a three day event and will start on Friday, October 1 at 3 pm, continue through Saturday, and end on Sunday afternoon. Please try to register at the desk by 2 pm. Double occupancy is required , so you'll be sharing your room with another workshop attendee. Included in your stay are reservations for a room with two queen size beds for Friday and Saturday night. You will also receive six meal passes to dine at the Inn's restaurant where buffets are offered for all three meals.

Pokagon State Park is located near Angola, Indiana, at the northeastern corner of the state.
(Driving directions are enclosed in the workshop packet. To request yours, call 517.296.4439 or email bsstone@DMCI.net.)
The Park is on the shores of Lake James and Snow Lake with rolling wooded hills providing the setting for lots of outdoor fun. There are hiking trails, two beaches, bike trails, swimming, fishing, boat rentals, and horseback riding available. There is also an indoor pool at the Inn. The Inn has recently been remodeled and is now a popular conference center for northeastern Indiana and adjacent states. The Park and Inn will provide a wonderful setting for your workshop experience.

You probably wonder just what the workshop is all about. Let me quote Ferron's explanation, "the workshop is called OPENING TO THE MUSE and it is a weekend exercise in getting past the editor and judge in yourself. We do this by speed writing exercises culminating in at least one good piece of work at the end of the weekend. Everyone is a story, and has a story to tell. Everyone is unique with their story and I like to try and get that out. it's fun, it's educational and communal."

So be ready to have a beautiful fall weekend in rural Indiana. Don't forget there will be a concert at 8 pm Friday night that will be open to the public. Workshop attendees get in at half price and will be seated down front. Bring your hiking shoes and don't forget you pen and notebook.
